Whether to give birth to a son depends on the mother or the father

The birth of a son mainly depends on the father's sex chromosomes. Human gender is determined by sex chromosomes. Women carry XX chromosomes and men carry XY chromosomes. The gender of the fetus depends on whether the sperm carries the X or Y chromosome and combines with the egg.

Male sperm are divided into two types: those containing X chromosomes and those containing Y chromosomes. When an X-chromosome-containing sperm fertilizes an egg, the fetus is female. When a Y-chromosome-containing sperm fertilizes an egg, the fetus is male. Some special circumstances may affect the sex ratio. Some genetic diseases, such as X-linked recessive diseases, may result in gender selection through genetic screening. Rarely, abnormal maternal hormone levels or changes in the reproductive tract environment may interfere with sperm motility, but this effect is very limited. There is currently no scientific evidence that diet, body position, or ovulation time can significantly change the probability of fetal gender.

There is no need to deliberately pursue the gender of the fetus during pregnancy preparation. Maintaining a balanced diet and regular work and rest can help increase the success rate of conception. It is recommended that couples undergo eugenics and postnatal care examinations before pregnancy to avoid exposure to toxic and harmful substances.
