Half of AIDS cases in Hainan are sexually transmitted

　　Since the first case of HIV infection was discovered in Hainan Province in 1991, as of November 25 this year, a total of 764 HIV-positive people have been detected in the province, including 627 HIV-infected people, 137 patients, and 173 deaths (including HIV-infected people who died from other causes).

　　Sexual transmission becomes the main route of AIDS transmission

　　It is understood that as of October 30, 2009, the province's AIDS and HIV antibody testing laboratories tested a total of 177,000 blood samples, and found 153 new HIV antibody-positive cases, including 123 cases registered in the province (97 cases diagnosed as HIV infection, 26 cases of AIDS patients), and 30 cases registered in other provinces. Disease control experts point out that as a major tourist province, we cannot ignore the public health issues brought about by increased population mobility.

　　From the perspective of transmission routes, 43.14% were transmitted through drug use and 45.75% were transmitted through sexual intercourse. Transmission from mother to child accounted for 1.31%, and the route of transmission was unknown, 9.80%.

　　Hainan will place condoms in saunas

　　In view of the fact that the HIV infection rate in Hainan has been increasing in recent years and gradually spreading from high-risk groups to the general population, Hainan will use five measures to intervene in the high-risk behaviors of high-risk groups.

　　According to He Qiya, director of the Hainan Provincial CDC AIDS Monitoring Center, for drug users, Hainan will promote the use of clean needles in the community and actively carry out methadone maintenance treatment outpatient services in areas with severe drug abuse.； For prostitutes and sexual promiscuous persons, relevant departments will place condoms and promotional leaflets in roadside shops, saunas, massage and hair salons, and hotel rooms to strengthen intervention in high-risk behaviors of sexual prostitutes and migrant populations.

　　In addition, the public security department will continue to crack down on illegal and criminal activities of prostitution, drug abuse and drug trafficking in accordance with the law, and purify the social atmosphere.； In all detoxification centers, shelters, and labor camps, carry out HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases of healthy educate； Place promotional materials in commercial entertainment and service venues and places where floating populations gather.

　　Voluntary testing found 36 cases of infection

　　Voluntary HIV counseling and testing is an important way to effectively detect AIDS, allowing many infected people to be diagnosed in time and receive treatment earlier.

　　Hainan Province skin disease The Prevention and Control Center is responsible for guiding the construction of free voluntary AIDS consultation centers across the province, training counselors, and collecting and analyzing information. Since 2007, there have been 63 free voluntary AIDS counseling and monitoring sites in our province. As of the end of October this year, our province has provided free consultations to 6,134 people in need this year, tested 5,221 people for free, and 36 people were positive. CDCs, dermatological and venereal disease prevention and control centers (institutes), comprehensive Hospital as well as women and children Most health centers have free voluntary AIDS counseling and testing sites, and those in need can go for free counseling and testing.
